Lib Dems Campaign To "Banish The Bag" In Pershore

Pershore's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt was joined by colleagues in Pershore town centre last Saturday to hand out free re-useable shopping bags as part of a promotion to cut down on the use of disposable plastic bags.

Richard Burt said: "Millions of disposable plastic bags are dumped in landfill every year. They can be a danger to wildlife and an eyesore if they are left blowing around.

"We were able to give away armfuls of free re-usable bags and I was delighted how receptive people were to our message. Many shoppers we met have already stopped using plastic bags and carry their own re-useable bag to the store when they shop."
